KA-RO Electronics focuses on industrial version tx53 CoM

At the embedded world 2011 in Nuremberg, Ka-Ro electronics was the first manufacturer to present a Computer on Module ready for serial production with an integrated Freescale multimedia processor i.MX53. Accordingly, the demand for the TX53 module was extremely high. Now electronic specialist Ka-Ro is putting a strategic focus on the industrial version of the CoM which is planned for introduction into the market in the fourth quarter 2011

The industrial version of the Ka-Ro TX53 module which is suited to meet the needs of industrial applications will feature the extended temperature range of -40° - +85°C and have two CAN buses and an IEEE 1588 support for Realtime-Ethernet applications. Additionally, thanks to the integrated hardware accelerator, the Freescale i.MX53 can be run with Android and thus meets the growing trend which is taking place in industrial segments towards applications with screen animation and multi-touch task. The long-term availability of more than 7 years is a further convincing feature.

Michael Vyskocil, Head of Development at Ka-Ro comments: "The i.MX53 marks the beginning of a new era of industrial applications, as it delivers the performance needed for a new generation of applications which place high demands on the visual requirements and touch screen features. With our TX53 module we cover a great deal of preparatory work for application engineers and thus enable them to fully concentrate on their customer-specific requirements and to realize their designs extremely promptly and efficiently."
